We believe you deserve to know exactly what happens with your data — in plain English, not legalese. Short version: we collect very little, we don't sell anything, and we're not tracking you.
Who We Are
The Veteran Benefits Directory (veteran-benefits-directory.pages.dev) is a free, independent website run by a US veteran. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Department of Defense (DoD), or any government agency.
Our goal is simple: help veterans and service members find the benefits and discounts they've earned — at no cost, ever.
What Data We Collect
We do not require you to create an account or register to use this site. Most visitors come and go without us ever knowing they were here.
The only situations where we receive data from you:
- Contact form: If you use the contact form on our Contact page, your name (optional), email address (optional), and message are sent to us via Formspree. These go directly to the site owner's email inbox and nowhere else.
- Analytics (if/when added): We may add Google Analytics in the future to understand how people use the site (e.g., which pages are popular). If we do, we'll update this policy first. Any analytics data collected would be anonymized pageview statistics — not personal information.
- Cloudflare infrastructure: Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log standard server request data (including IP addresses) as part of their infrastructure security and DDoS protection. We do not have direct access to these logs and they are governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Cookies and Local Storage
We store exactly one item in your browser's local storage:
theme— saves your light/dark mode preference (either"light"or"dark"). This never leaves your device and is only used to remember your display setting between visits.
We do not set any tracking cookies. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use any third-party cookies of our own.
Third-Party Services
To build and run this site, we use a few outside services. Each has its own privacy policy, which governs how they handle data:
- Cloudflare Pages & Turnstile Hosts this website and powers the CAPTCHA on our contact form to block spam. Cloudflare Privacy Policy

- Logo.dev Serves company logos displayed on benefit cards (e.g., the retailer or airline logo). Your browser requests these images directly from Logo.dev's servers. Logo.dev Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts Provides the Lexend and Source Sans 3 typefaces used across the site. Font files are loaded from Google's servers when you visit a page. Google Privacy Policy
Coming soon: We may add Google AdSense to help cover hosting and maintenance costs while keeping the site free. If we do, this policy will be updated before ads are enabled. AdSense would introduce Google's advertising cookies, and you would be notified.
How We Use Your Data
If you submit the contact form, we use the information only to read your message and respond to it. That's it.
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share your information with third parties (beyond what's needed for the services listed above to function).
- We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional messages unless you explicitly ask us to.
- We do not build profiles about you.
Children's Privacy
This site is intended for adults — specifically US veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
If you submitted a message through our contact form and would like us to delete that information, just send us a message with the request. We'll delete the record from our inbox.
Because we collect so little data, there's not much else to request — but if you have any questions about what we have or don't have, don't hesitate to reach out.

The Veteran Benefits Directory links out to hundreds of retailers, programs, and official resources. Once you click a link and leave our site, their privacy policies apply — not ours. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we add new features like analytics or advertising. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll make an effort to highlight what changed.
We encourage you to check this page occasionally, especially before submitting any personal information through the contact form.
